Refresher training and skills updates

Regular refresher training is an important part of keeping safety skills up-to-date and qualifications current.

Getting qualified in a particular unit of competency or completing a training course once is only the first step in making sure you have the skills needed to stay safe in the workplace. Many employers and job sites will require that you refresh or update your skills on a regular basis.

Regularly maintaining your safety skills by undertaking refresher training ensures your qualifications are kept up to date. Depending on the competency you have previously completed, your employer or job site rules, the time between doing the course and refreshing your skills will be different. At HSE, we believe two years is the ideal timeframe, with annual refreshers for CPR. Check your needs with your employer or job site.
